Description

Old Tortue brand nylon fishing line spool, "Super Control" model, clearly identifiable on the front. This model features a screen-printed label with gold and black lettering, and the characteristic stylized turtle logo on the left. The whole is presented on a burgundy velvet background, accentuating the retro and refined look of the object.

The spool is circular, with a large central hexagonal hole, typical of traditional fishing accessories. Technical specifications are printed in black: resistance of 27.3/4 lbs (12.5 kg), line length 100 meters (110 yards), reference N°125, and diameter 50. The mentions "Made in France" and "La soie Paris" confirm the French origin of the product.

The visible support has a matte white finish, with traces of wear and a slight patina, indicating its age. No thread is visible on the spool, which allows all inscriptions and the design to be seen. The lettering "TORTUE SUPER CONTROL" as well as the logo are well preserved, providing a very recognizable vintage touch.

The arrangement of information on the front, as well as the graphic style, evoke production from past decades, probably the 1970s to 1980s, a period when this type of packaging was common among French manufacturers of fishing accessories.

The spool is placed in a hinged box, itself covered with a velvet-effect fabric, which highlights its retro appearance and makes it a decorative object as much as a technical accessory. No other accessories are visible in the photo.

Condition

Used item sold as is. Presence of visible traces of wear and patina on the outer surface. Inscriptions remain perfectly legible. No apparent breakage or deformation on the visible face.
