Description

An antique "Gouttes de Lotty" medicine box, shown standing in the photo, typical of pharmaceutical preparations from the early to mid-20th century. The packaging is made of printed cardboard, predominantly dark blue with white and black lettering, including the product name in capital letters on the visible side: "GOUTTES DE LOTTY".

The rectangular box features a main printed side with retro typography, characteristic of the 1930s to 1950s. Visible information mentions indications for "laryngitis, tracheitis, bronchitis, whooping cough, spasmodic coughs". There is a "Mode d'emploi" (Instructions for use) box and a handwritten price of "96" centimes, as well as the pharmacist's name: "R. DENIS, 1st class pharmacist, former intern of Paris hospitals, 7 rue du Laos, Paris (15th)".

The cardboard shows some visible signs of wear: slightly blunted corners, a surface with patination and folds from use, testifying to the object's age. No contents are visible in this photo; only the outer box is shown. The print is still clear despite some signs of age-related alteration, particularly on the edges.

The overall design, with its sober graphics and regulatory mentions ("Visa N° 1301-128", "Laboratoire National de Contrôle des Médicaments"), fits into the French pharmaceutical aesthetic from before the 1960s.
