Description
An antique pharmaceutical or medicine tin, rectangular with rounded corners and a slip lid. The visible side features a white background, slightly patinated, with a graphic and clean typography typical of the mid-20th century. In large, slanted black letters, the inscription "QUINOCARBINE" is visible. Two mentions appear in red: "CHARBON" (Charcoal) in the upper left and "BISMUTH" in the lower right, indicating the original composition of the product. The lettering is clear, well-contrasted against the light background. The surface of the tin shows signs of wear, stains, and traces of oxidation, particularly on the lid, testifying to its age and past use.
The tin is made of metal with a white lacquered finish, whose patina and visible chips confirm the vintage and authentic character of the object. The edge of the lid and the base show slight brown oxidation, typical of old metal tins. There is no superfluous decoration: the design is functional, true to the utilitarian pharmaceutical style of the 20th century.
The front face, visible in the photo, has no other inscriptions or patterns, apart from the mentions already cited. The edges are slightly rounded and the structure appears robust, designed to protect the original contents. The whole offers an industrial and retro look, ideal for an apothecary-themed decoration or a cabinet of curiosities.
This type of tin was intended for storing and showcasing medicinal products or pharmaceutical specialties, here based on charcoal and bismuth, two ingredients historically used for their digestive properties. The object stands out for its period graphics and its pharmaceutical typology, appreciated in vintage decoration.
