Visual Description

Vintage metal Nescafé tin, as seen in the photo, cylindrical in shape, with a push-fit lid. The front shows a large "NESCAFÉ" inscription in gold capital letters on a dark brown background, underlined by "NESTLÉ" also in gold letters. Below the main logo, the inscription "EXTRAIT DE CAFÉ EN POUDRE" (POWDERED COFFEE EXTRACT) is visible in gold letters, typical of mid-20th century advertising packaging. The lid features the name "NESCAFÉ" embossed, as well as French indications, visible but partially faded by the patina of time.

The exterior surface displays a distinct patina, with traces of oxidation and small rust spots mainly on the lid, confirming the object's authenticity and vintage character. The edges of the lid also show some natural signs of wear. The whole is decorated in a sober style, typical of old advertising packaging, with stylized floral motifs around the name "Nestlé."

The typography, colors, and graphics clearly evoke production from the 1940s to 1960s, a period during which this style of coffee tin was common for Nestlé/Nescafé products. No other patterns or decorations are visible on the front, with emphasis placed on the brand and product function.

The compact, cylindrical format of this tin, combined with its aged metallic appearance, makes it an authentic decorative object for a kitchen, a retro shelf, or a space dedicated to vintage decor.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. Presence of oxidation traces, wear of the decor, and visible patina, mainly on the lid and edges. Inscriptions remain legible despite the wear of time.

Did you know? Nescafé was launched by Nestlé in 1938, revolutionizing instant coffee consumption worldwide. Early metal tins like this one were used to preserve the aroma of powdered coffee while distinctly displaying the brand in grocery stores. Their simple and robust design reflected Nestlé's desire to combine practicality with a strong brand image.
