Original Antésite Anis vintage 1940s box, old bottle, advertising decor
AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description
An antique box from the Antésite brand, Anis flavor, visible on the front. The packaging features a deep pink hue typical of mid-20th century food advertisements, with dark blue printed text. The rectangular box is made of cardboard, with the top damaged and partially open, revealing the raw cardboard underneath. The period graphics include the "L'ANTÉSITE" logo in stylized lettering, accompanied by various mentions: "Health through concentrated extract of aromatic plants", "125g bottle for 75 liters of drink", as well as various usage and storage tips. An emblematic brand motif, based on stylized branches, is visible near the central logo.
The inscription "ANIS" in capital letters identifies the flavor of this packaging, a less common variation in the Antésite range. The graphic style, the vocabulary used ("hygiene", "refreshing drink"), as well as the absence of modern mentions, clearly place this packaging in the 1940s. The box shows significant signs of wear: blunted corners, tears and dirt on the upper part, as well as slight discoloration on some edges.
The visible side also details dilution recommendations, manufacturer's mention, and usage instructions: "Antésite, a refreshing drink based on plant extracts, with no added sugar". Several printed paragraphs specify the product's properties and benefits, in a typography typical of the 1940s. No indication is visible regarding the presence or condition of the inner bottle.
The whole forms an ideal vintage advertising object for decoration, a testament to the graphic design and consumption codes of post-war France. The bright pink color, associated with retro typography and the "Anis" mention, makes it a distinctive decorative piece for a kitchen, bar or thematic display case.
The cardboard of the box, with its matte appearance, is consistent with the packaging materials used in the 1940s. The visual is clearly legible on the presented side, with much of the original text preserved despite the wear.

Did you know? Antésite, invented in 1898 in Voiron (Isère), is an emblematic French brand of sugar-free aromatic concentrate, to be diluted in water. The "Anis" flavor was launched in the first half of the 20th century, targeting consumers looking for a healthy alternative to sugary drinks. Period boxes and bottles are now sought after for their authentic graphics and their history linked to French food advertising.
