AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description
Old cylindrical advertising tin from the Urophil Bailly brand, typical of pharmaceutical packaging from the mid-20th century. The tube has an elongated shape, with a gray metallic finish lid, showing a patina of use and visible oxidation marks on the top. The body of the tube is covered with a printed label on a cream background, adorned with a wide red band bearing the inscription "UROPHIL BAILLY" in white capital letters, clearly legible on the exposed side.
The lower part of the label details the "FORMULA" and "DIRECTIONS FOR USE" in smaller characters, typical of old medical packaging. Several lines of text are visible, although partially faded by time. Chemical components and usage instructions are distinguishable, confirming the pharmaceutical purpose of the object.
The bottom of the label also displays the mention "LABORATOIRES BAILLY," highlighting the professional origin of this packaging. The whole presents a homogeneous patina, with signs of wear, small stains, and discolorations, testifying to the age of the tin and its past use.
The overall hue ranges from yellowed beige to brick red, enhanced by orange details on the decorative bands. The graphic aspect, typography, and structure of the object clearly evoke French pharmaceutical products from the 1940s to the 1960s.
This type of advertising tube was used to contain medical powders or granules, and is now a sought-after retro decorative object for shop window displays, old pharmacies, or vintage interiors.
