Visual Description

This old advertising tin has a rectangular shape with rounded corners and a patinated yellow visual finish, typical of pharmaceutical tins from the mid-20th century. On the visible side, the inscription "40 Pastilles de GONACRINE" is displayed in bright red, accompanied by smaller print details concerning the dosage and composition ("dosées à 5 milligrammes de chlorure de 3.6 diamino-1-méthylacridinium"). Below, the mention of "SOCIÉTÉ PARISIENNE D'EXPANSION CHIMIQUE S.A." can be seen, as well as the word "SPECIA" in capitals and a circular red seal with the mention "Specia Paris".

The tin's design is typical of French pharmaceutical presentations from the 1930s-1950s, with functional typography and a strong contrast between the yellow background and the red inscriptions. The surface shows signs of wear, marks, and stains, testifying to its authenticity and past use. No additional decoration appears, the tin relying on the readability and effectiveness of its advertising message.

The top side is the only one visible in the photo, with no clear indication of the sides, back, or interior. The tin rests on an old wooden table, which highlights its retro and utilitarian aspect. The entire object evokes the world of old-fashioned pharmacies and pharmaceutical preparations.
