Description

Old Chauvet Rum bottle, shown here in a typical presentation for French spirits from the early to mid-20th century. The bottle is made of green tinted glass, with a long, cylindrical neck, a rounded shoulder, and a straight body. The original label, well-preserved, covers most of the visible front. It features characteristic period typography, with "Rhum Chauvet" in red and black letters on a beige background, and "14 Grands Prix" below. There are also numerous indications of awards and medals, notably "Médaille d’Or Paris 1900", "Grands Prix Bordeaux 1895", "Marseille 1899" and other distinctions, confirming the historical renown of the brand.

The upper part of the label mentions "Arôme Pureté Finesse" (Aroma Purity Finesse), highlighting the quality argument put forward by the Chauvet company at that time. A decorative red band, adorned with Art Deco geometric patterns, frames the main label. The base of the bottle features a second, narrower label, listing the various grand prizes won and specifying: "La Marque Chauvet" (The Chauvet Brand). The mention "Propriété de la Cie des Antilles, Le Havre" (Property of Cie des Antilles, Le Havre) is also visible.

The neck of the bottle shows remnants of an old neckband or capsule, partially faded, with a golden/reddish appearance. The glass has a slight patina, typical of an old object, with no visible chips on the front. No cork is present in this image. The bottle is empty, which is consistent with the use for this type of collector's or decorative item.

This type of bottle, with its original label and retro look, is a fine example of French vintage spirits advertising and packaging design. The whole exudes an authentic charm, enhanced by the patinated appearance of the label and the coloration of the glass.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. The bottle is empty. The label has a consistent patina, some visible signs of wear, but remains clearly legible. Slight marks or wear on the glass, with no major apparent flaws on the visible side.
