Vintage Antique Buttons High Novelty, lot of 5, beaded relief, France
AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description
This lot consists of five antique buttons presented on their original card, stamped "Haute Nouveauté" at the top and "Les plus beaux boutons d?Europe" (The most beautiful buttons in Europe) at the bottom. The visible buttons feature a classic round shape and a uniform beaded relief across the entire surface, evoking a textured finish highly characteristic of French productions from the early to mid-20th century. Their color is a soft, subtly satin-finished rosy beige that elegantly catches the light. The regular and dense structure of the beaded pattern provides a refined and vintage decorative effect, while remaining understated.
The original card, with graphics typical of French haberdasheries, shows signs of wear and handling: marked creases, blunted corners, minor stains and tears, as well as traces of attachment thread, visible in the photo. The buttons themselves appear intact, with no chips or apparent cracks on the visible face. The presentation on a period card reinforces the authenticity of this lot, appreciated for retro sewing, customization, or textile decoration.
Each button has a uniform hue and a slightly glossy appearance, enhanced by the beaded relief that accentuates the visual texture. This type of button, often used for women's clothing from the mid-20th century, is distinguished by its discreet elegance and careful craftsmanship. The beaded pattern, also called "raspberry button" in the vocabulary of antique haberdasheries, is a classic of vintage fashion accessories.
The handwritten typography "Haute Nouveauté" and the promotional mention "Les plus beaux boutons d?Europe" are typical of French button cards from the first half of the 20th century, reinforcing the decorative and historical appeal of the set.
The back and attachment system of the buttons are not visible in the photo and therefore cannot be described. The presented face shows a homogeneous surface, with no major defects noted.
Condition
Used item sold as is. The card shows visible signs of wear, creases, and stains; the buttons are in very good apparent condition on the visible side.
