Description

Old shield-shaped brooch, made of enamelled bronze, depicting the Donon site. The front shows a relief coat of arms, with golden contours, adorned with details painted in sky blue, green and purple enamel. The central motif features a stylized Greco-Roman temple, surrounded by fir trees, mountains and a tree, evoking the characteristic landscape of the Vosges massif.

At the top of the shield, the inscription "LE DONON" appears in raised capital letters on a white background. In the lower part, the mention "1008 M" indicates the altitude of the summit. A small loop is visible at the bottom tip of the coat of arms, typical of regional souvenir brooches from the mid-20th century.

The surface has an old golden patina, with visible signs of wear in several areas, revealing the underlying metal in places. The coloured enamel shows some chips and scratches, particularly on the sky blue and on the landscape details, testifying to the age of the piece.

The composition and graphic style of this badge evoke the tourist souvenirs distributed in the 1950s to 1970s, featuring emblematic French sites. The decor, both naive and symbolic, highlights the Temple of Donon, a historical monument located in the Vosges.
