Vintage antique silver-plated heraldic brooch, retro emblem jewelry
AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description
Antique heraldic-style brooch, featuring a central shield motif flanked by two upright winged birds, probably stylized herons or storks. The central shield displays three horizontal bands crossed by studs, typical of coat of arms iconography. Topped by a crenellated crown, the brooch evokes the aesthetic of ancient nobility coats of arms or historical institutions. The shiny silver finish gives the whole a refined metallic appearance, without being able to specify the exact material.
The decorative details are very sharp: each wing feather, the birds' legs and beaks, as well as the architectural elements of the crown are finely chiselled. The ribbon at the bottom bears an embossed inscription, "JACOBUS ST. ROSITIO", perfectly legible on the presented side. The whole has a compact, vertical shape, with spread wings and sharp edges that emphasize the relief of the motif.
The brooch is photographed on a light fabric, which highlights the shine of the surface and the polished appearance of the metal. No chips, scratches or major defects are visible on the exposed side. The overall appearance gives an impression of quality and robustness, typical of retro or vintage-inspired jewelry.
The iconography, the style of the coat of arms and the typography of the inscription suggest a classical influence, common in productions from the mid to late 20th century, without being able to precisely date the object. This type of brooch is often worn on a jacket lapel, coat or textile accessory to emphasize belonging, a tribute or for a sophisticated decorative effect.
The visible side shows only the front of the jewelry, with no indication of the fastening system or the back. The whole is entirely silver-plated on the visible part, with a slightly patinated effect in the hollows to accentuate the contours and patterns.
