Description

Soviet military badge pin, shown in the photo, with a stylized heraldic shape, typical of the imagery of the USSR's Red Army. The pin features a two-part articulated structure: an upper red rectangle bears a Cyrillic inscription "СЛАВА СОВЕТСКОЙ АРМИИ" (translation: Glory to the Soviet Army), with golden letters on a red enamel background. The rectangle is suspended from a shield with angular contours, featuring golden and multi-colored enameled decorations.

The main part of the shield is divided into three zones: the upper part, burgundy, features a golden five-pointed star; the central part, on a light blue background radiating yellow, evokes a stylized sun and a central red star; the lower part, white, includes a red star and the hammer and sickle symbol in red. The whole is enhanced with golden borders, typical of Soviet-era military insignia.

The glossy enamel finish, visible in the photo, provides a clear contrast between the colors and highlights the relief of the design. The contours are sharp, with no apparent chips or missing areas on the front. The upper attachment suggests a pin or clasp fastening system (not visible here).

The overall aesthetic, with the red star, hammer and sickle, and vibrant color palette, is consistent with the official decorative style of the USSR, primarily used from the 1960s to the 1980s. This type of insignia was intended to commemorate or honor the Soviet armed forces, often awarded during ceremonies or military anniversaries.

Did you know? Insignia and pins featuring the Soviet Army were widely distributed in the USSR, not only among military personnel but also as part of propaganda campaigns and public events.
