Vintage Soviet GAZ M-1 1936 Brooch, Old USSR Car Badge
AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description
Decorative pin of Soviet origin depicting in relief a vintage car, specifically the 1936 GAZ M-1 model. The pin has a rectangular shape, slightly indented at the base, with a golden visual finish and details painted in blue and red. On the upper part is the stylized side profile of a four-door car, typical of automobiles produced in the 1930s by the GAZ manufacturer. The entire motif is in slight relief, giving the piece a three-dimensional effect.
Below the vehicle, a blue horizontal stripe crosses the pin, bearing the inscriptions "M-1" on the left and "1936 г." on the right, both in white Cyrillic characters. In the center, a red hexagonal emblem, bordered in blue, displays a leaping deer and the inscription "ГАЗ", the distinctive emblem of the GAZ brand. All graphic elements are clear and well-contrasted, highlighting the Soviet graphic style of the interwar period.
The visible surface shows a light patina, typical of decorative objects from past decades, with some traces of wear on the edges and raised parts. The main colors are matte gold, vibrant blue, and deep red, with a shimmering effect in places, particularly on the central emblem.
The pin shows no clasp or attachment system on the front, only the decorative part is visible in the photo. The whole evokes commemorative badges or insignia distributed during events or to mark anniversaries of emblematic car models in the USSR.
The inscriptions are perfectly legible: "M-1", "1936 г." and "ГАЗ". No other markings, serial numbers, or signatures are visible on this side. The graphic style, typography, and iconography correspond to Soviet production of souvenir objects or distinctions from the 1970s to 1980s, making production during this period plausible, even if the pin celebrates a 1936 model.
