Description

This vintage document is a handwritten pay slip from July 1961, typical of French administration in the early 1960s. It takes the form of a sheet of paper with a printed letterhead "BULLETIN DE SALAIRES" (PAY SLIP), completed by hand in blue ink. Essential information such as the employee's name, address, occupation ("chauffeur"), and Social Security number are visible on the upper part. The identified employer is "MAGNAN M. TAXI," located in Marseille, as indicated by a red ink stamp at the bottom of the document.

The structure of the pay slip includes the classic elements of a salary from that era: number of days worked, gross salary, deductions, and net pay. The amounts are written by hand in the designated boxes. Several handwritten signatures and annotations are present, lending this document a certain authenticity and historical value. The slightly yellowed appearance of the paper, as well as the administrative typography, reinforce the vintage character of the piece.

The visible side shows a good overall condition for its age, with no apparent tears, but with signs of use, marked folds, and a natural patina. The layout of the pay slip, placed on a dark wooden desk next to a pocket watch, an old doily, and a black photo frame, highlights its retro style and evokes the administrative and daily atmosphere of France in the 1960s.

The inscriptions remain legible despite the wear of time. The mention "44, Cours Lieutaud, MARSEILLE" is clearly distinguishable, as are the details of the amounts and salary calculations. The pay slip is oriented vertically, with a format typical of administrative documents from this period, and presents a matte texture characteristic of archive paper.

This pay slip constitutes concrete evidence of the social and economic functioning in France at the beginning of the "Trente Glorieuses" (Thirty Glorious Years), ideal for genealogical research, historical documentation, or decoration on the theme of old work and administration.
