Description
This document, visible in the photo, is an old parish bulletin titled "ENTRE NOUS...", published by the parish of Saint-Joseph (Ille-et-Marne). The cover, with its characteristic 1950s graphics, features a bluish monochrome photograph of a columned building, likely the church mentioned in the subtitle. The visible number is N°4, dated April 1958, a clear indication of its publication era.
In the upper right, an architectural photograph highlights the facade of a religious building, with massive columns and a classical pediment, typical of certain Catholic edifices. The inscription "YOUR CHURCH, WHICH WAS CONSECRATED ONE HUNDRED YEARS AGO" recalls a significant community event, emphasizing the heritage aspect of the bulletin. The typography, in bold blue on cream paper, is sober and retro in style, easily identifiable as mid-20th century.
The entire booklet is printed on matte paper, without a glossy effect, with visible folds along its entire height, a sign of prolonged storage and previous handling. The corners are slightly dog-eared, with no noticeable tears on the visible side. The layout, with its regular margins and minimalist graphic design, remains faithful to French religious publications of this period.
The title "BULLETIN PAROISSIAL de SAINT-JOSEPH (I. M.)" appears in the lower left, allowing for precise identification of the publishing parish. No other text is legible on this side. The printing, exclusively in blue, reinforces the vintage aspect and gives this document an aesthetic typical of post-war parish publications.
This type of booklet was used to inform the faithful about parish events and important dates, and testifies to the religious and social practices of the time. Its simple and authentic presentation makes it a valuable resource for the study of local history or for showcasing French religious archives.
