Description
Vintage amateur radio QSL card, visible in the photo, issued for the call sign EA3-BFU from Gerona, Spain (Zone 14). The card features a vibrant yellow background with a white frieze at the top, bearing the inscriptions "ESPAÑA", "ZONA 14", and "GERONA". On the front, a graphic of the Iberian Peninsula with black concentric circles highlights the location of Gerona, accompanied by the blue logo of the URE (Unión de Radioaficionados Españoles) on the left.
The central visual is occupied by the radio call sign "EA3-BFU" in large, clearly legible black letters. To the right, the operator's information is printed: "QRA. Antonio Vilches Durán, QTH. c/. Massana 31 - 3º, Teléf. 207065 GERONA, SPAIN". The card displays a typical QSL layout from the 60s-70s, with a clean and functional graphic design, where the map of Spain and part of the Canary Islands are represented in black on a yellow background.
The visible paper appears to be standard cardstock, with a matte finish. No markings, inscriptions, or handwritten annotations are visible on this side. The typeface used and the graphic style are characteristic of vintage amateur radio correspondence materials, primarily used to confirm contacts between operators.
The card is presented standing, slightly tilted, on an aged wooden surface, with an old library setting in the background, accentuating its retro and collectible character. The front shows no stamp, no adhesive traces, nor any apparent tears, but some micro-traces of use are visible, notably a slight fold on the upper left edge.
Condition
Used item, sold as is. The card shows slight signs of wear compatible with its age, including a small fold and some superficial traces on the visible surface.
Did you know? A QSL card is a postcard used by amateur radio operators to confirm a radio contact around the world. The acronym QSL comes from the international Q code meaning "I confirm reception." The URE (Unión de Radioaficionados Españoles), whose logo is visible, is the national Spanish organization founded in 1949 to unite the country's radio operators.
