Description

This old phone card, also known as a telecard, is an edition dedicated to Minitel 2, identifiable by the inscription "Minitel 2" in white on the front. It features a blue visual with a Minitel keyboard, a screen displaying the text "France Télécom", and a clearly visible electronic chip on the left. It is a Télécarte 120, as indicated in a white box at the bottom right of the card. The dominant colors are different shades of blue, with some touches of green and grey on the represented keyboard.

The card exhibits a typical design from the late 80s to the 90s, a period when Minitel played a central role in communication in France. The printing is clear, with iconic computer patterns from that era. The electronic chip, characteristic of phone cards of this generation, is integrated on the left side. No other text or logo is visible on this side, apart from the elements already mentioned.

The photographic background is golden and satin, which highlights the card. A crossed white string is also visible, but it does not affect the observation of the telecard in any way. The card's surface appears clean, without major scratches or noticeable chips on the displayed side. The visible edges appear clean and free of nicks.

The illustrated object is typical of French phone cards used before the widespread adoption of mobile phones. The mention "Télécarte 120" indicates a capacity of 120 units, standard for the time. This card thus combines historical value and retro aesthetics, appreciated for decoration or as an emblematic souvenir of the Minitel and France Télécom era.

The graphic elements, such as the keyboard and the pixelated screen, recall the technological world of the 80s-90s. The contrast between the digital blue and the golden background of the photo reinforces the vintage aspect and highlights this witness of pre-Internet communication.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. The visible side is in good overall condition, with no apparent major flaws. Some minor signs of use may be present, consistent with the age of the card.

Did you know? Minitel, launched in France in 1982, was one of the very first videotex systems in the world, allowing access to directories, messaging, and online services long before the advent of the Internet. Chip telecards, for their part, were introduced in France as early as 1983 by France Télécom, offering a practical alternative to coins for making calls from public phone booths.
