Description

This listing is for an authentic telephone card, known as a "télécarte," from the France Télécom era. The visual highlights the Sillage model, accompanied by a Minitel answering machine, characteristic of the late 1990s to early 2000s. The card has a rectangular shape with rounded corners and a visible golden chip on the left, typical of the smart telecards used in France at that time.

The left side of the card is dominated by a dark blue area, featuring the "SILLAGE" logo, the phrase "Le Téléphone Répondeur Minitel par France Télécom" (The Minitel Answering Telephone by France Télécom), and the old institutional France Télécom logo. The electronic chip is clearly integrated, a distinctive sign of public-use telephone cards.

The right side of the telecard displays a color photograph, showing an answering machine with a screen and keypad, placed on a desk. The title "Télécarte 50" appears in a gray box, indicating the card's initial capacity (50 units). The orange, yellow, and brown hues of the background evoke the office aesthetics of the period.

The visible surface shows no deep scratches, breaks, or significant chips, although some micro-traces of use may remain on the glossy plastic, consistent with previous use. The inscriptions are perfectly legible, and the chip appears intact on the presented side.

This type of card, both an advertising object and a common-use medium, is emblematic of the pre-mobile phone era and bears witness to the design and communication technologies of the 90s and 2000s.

Condition

Used item sold as is, with minor marks related to normal handling. The visible side remains in good condition, with no apparent structural defects.

Did you know? Smart telecards were introduced in France in the 1980s and became an essential medium until the widespread advent of mobile phones. France Télécom issued numerous models for advertising or commemorative purposes, some of which became representative of French technological innovation of the time.
