Vintage phone card Télécarte 120 red chip, slogan Je suis Petit
AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description
Old phone card of the Télécarte type, with a visible electronic chip model in the upper left corner. This card features a bright red finish, with yellow text in large lettering across the entire front. The legible inscription reads: "I am Small. I am More. I do More. Who am I?", which gives this card an advertising or promotional appearance characteristic of certain series released in the 1990s in France.
The upper right corner bears the mention "TELECARTE 120" in a yellow box, identifying the initial capacity of 120 units, standard for cards used at the time for public telephone booths. The chip with gold contacts, located on the left, is typical of French telecards from this period, ensuring compatibility with public chip-reading telephones.
The visible surface shows good overall preservation: the red color remains vibrant, and the yellow print is clear, with no apparent fading. No brand logo is visible on the front, but the presentation and graphics are representative of France Télécom productions from the late 20th century. No details are visible concerning the back or any additional inscriptions.
The card adopts a rectangular format with rounded corners, typical of smart cards from that era, with a minimalist aesthetic and high readability of information. No major defects are noted on the visible side, except for a slight dark spot at the bottom left, probably related to use or manufacturing.
The typography and the choice of colors (red and yellow) are reminiscent of 90s advertising graphic codes, reinforcing the retro and iconic character of this telecard.
Condition
Used item, sold as is. The visible front is in good general condition, with well-preserved printing and an intact chip.
Did you know? Chip telecards were introduced in France in 1983 to replace tokens and coins in public telephone booths. Their capacity, expressed in units, determined the possible communication time. 120-unit models were among the most common in the 90s, a period of high use before the rise of the mobile phone.
