Description

Audio cassette visible in a transparent plastic case, featuring an illustrated cover typical of French musical productions dedicated to popular and retro music. The front cover prominently displays the title "LE TEMPS DES GUINGUETTES" in red letters on a yellow background, with the phrase "18 succès pour danser" (18 hits for dancing) placed just below. The overall visual evokes the warm and festive atmosphere of the "guinguettes" (riverside taverns with dancing) of the Parisian region, accentuated by the presence of an accordion photographed on the left, an emblematic element of the "bal musette" (French popular dance style).

The cover features two main illustrations: on the left, a "JOINVILLE LE PONT" sign set against a lush green background, and on the right, a photograph of the facade of the famous "Gégène" guinguette in Joinville-le-Pont, with recognizable characters and signage. The signature "VALMY" can also be seen on the lower part of the central photo, indicating meticulous graphic work.

At the bottom of the cover are the names of the main artists: D. Gigot, M. Dadier, A. Trichot, R. Grolier, B. Hembert, P. Peribois, as well as Sand Bara, all associated with the "bal musette" tradition. The inscription "LES ROIS DU BAL MUSETTE" (The Kings of Bal Musette) further defines the musical style of this compilation.

The cassette has a retro look characteristic of the 80s-90s, with a colorful layout, vintage font, and festive atmosphere. The plastic case and the cover printing are in good visual condition on the front, with no significant scratches or noticeable dirt on the visible part.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. Good general appearance of the front, legible cover and well-preserved colors. The plastic case appears clean on the visible side.

Did you know? The "Gégène" guinguette in Joinville-le-Pont, founded in 1914, is one of the most famous guinguettes on the Marne and remains a symbol of the festive tradition of "bal musette" in Île-de-France. These establishments greatly contributed to the popularity of the accordion and popular dances throughout the 20th century.
