Description

Original classical music audio CD, presented in a standard transparent case with a black spine. The front cover features a photographic visual: a man in a brown jacket, with an open book in his hand, is sitting outdoors in front of a large house with dark roofs and white chimneys. At the top, the main title is displayed in white letters: “BRITTEN THE YOUNG PERSON’S GUIDE TO THE ORCHESTRA”, accompanied by the works “Variations on a Theme of Frank Bridge” and “Simple Symphony”. The orchestras mentioned are the English Chamber Orchestra and the London Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Benjamin Britten. The “DECCA” logo is clearly visible at the top right, as is the “ADRM” mention in a red band on the upper left spine. The reference visible on the cover is “417 509-2”.

The case has a transparent front surface, revealing the color cover. No major defects are visible on the photographed part, with the exception of some minor signs of use on the plastic. The inscriptions are clear and legible, confirming the DECCA edition, renowned for its high-quality classical music recordings.

The graphic composition of the cover is typical of late 20th-century editions, with a structured layout and a period photo visual. The overall look is sober and professional, characteristic of DECCA's classical productions. The blue sky background and natural colors of the scene add an authentic touch to this edition.

The black spine of the case is visible on the left, indicating a classic CD edition, with no particular ornamentation on this side. The font used for the titles is clear, prioritizing readability, a frequent choice for editions intended for an informed classical music audience.

This CD brings together major works by Benjamin Britten, a 20th-century British composer, including “The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra”, an emblematic pedagogical piece, as well as “Variations on a Theme of Frank Bridge” and “Simple Symphony”.
