Description

This audio CD features a recording of Richard Wagner's "Der Fliegende Holländer" (The Flying Dutchman), released by EMI Studio Digital. The cover visible through the plastic case displays a graphic composition combining a beige background illustrated with marine motifs and a dark image evoking a ship, typical of an opera libretto. The main inscriptions are legible: the title of the work, the names of the performers (Van Dam, Vejzovic, Moll, Hofmann), the conductor Karajan, the Wiener Staatsoper Chorus, and the Berliner Philharmoniker.

The case is the classic transparent model with a red spine, characteristic of late 20th-century EMI Studio Digital editions. In the bottom left corner, the EMI Studio Digital logo is clearly visible, associated with typography recognizable by classical music enthusiasts and vintage media collectors. The cover visual, with its marked contrast between light and dark areas, gives the whole a sober aesthetic, faithful to the spirit of classical music editions of that period.

The front side shows the CD in its original case, placed on a carved wooden surface, with an architectural decor in the background, which does not affect the item offered. No obvious defects are visible on the jacket or the surface of the case on this side, although slight signs of use or micro-scratches may be present, as is often the case with used CDs.

The set includes (according to the visible side): the original plastic case, the illustrated front jacket, and the CD inside (not visible here but implied by the complete presentation). The mention "Highlights / Extraits / Querschnitt" indicates that it is a selected version of the work, particularly sought after for practical and accessible listening.

This edition is distinguished by the EMI Studio Digital production quality, appreciated for its faithful reproduction of classical repertoire on CD. The typography and graphics of the jacket are typical of 1980s-1990s productions, which gives this disc a real appeal for lovers of vintage recordings and classic physical media.

Condition

Used item sold as is, as visible in the photo. Case and jacket in good visual condition on the front side, with no major apparent defects. Some possible signs of use on the plastic or jacket, typical for a vintage CD.
