Description

This antique metal ashtray features an oval shape highlighted by sculpted volute and arabesque contours, typical of early 20th-century decorative objects. The visible side boasts finely crafted relief decoration depicting the Papal Palace and Notre-Dame des Doms Cathedral in Avignon, with the inscription "SOUVENIR D’AVIGNON" at the top and "LE PALAIS DES PAPES ET LA CATHEDRALE N.D. DES DOMS" in the lower part of the basin. The whole is enhanced by a grayish patina, with matte and shiny nuances depending on the angle of the light, accentuating the relief of the architectural decoration.

The ashtray's border is adorned with floral motifs in relief, adding an extra decorative touch and emphasizing the souvenir nature of the object.
