Description

This old advertising ashtray features a distinctive triangular shape, very popular in bars and cafes in the mid-20th century. Its opaque white surface has a smooth, glossy finish, typical of pressed glass used in bistro tableware. The object has three notches on each corner, designed to hold cigarettes, with an ergonomic and functional design.

On the visible side, the silkscreened decoration includes the name "REGNIER" in black capital letters on a white background, accompanied by a dark red blackcurrant cluster motif and the mention "16° CASSIS DE DIJON", a direct evocation of the famous blackcurrant-based aperitif produced by the Régnier company. The print is clear and well-contrasted, with no visible smudges.

The ashtray's structure offers thick walls and a stable base, ensuring robustness for intensive use in restaurants. The overall style, the use of thick white glass, and the advertising graphic place the object in a retro aesthetic, evoking the 60s-70s, a golden age for promotional bar items in France.
