Description

This lot consists of two antique service knives from the airline Latam Chile, identifiable by the inscription "LanChile" engraved on the handle of each piece. Both knives have a slender and slightly curved shape, typical of cutlery designed for use on board airplanes. Their finish evokes a smooth, shiny metallic appearance, with a polished surface that catches the light.

The blade has a rounded, non-sharp end, suitable for use in airline catering for spreading or cutting soft foods. The handle is wide and flat, ergonomic, with smooth edges for a comfortable grip. The "LanChile" inscription is clearly visible, accompanied by a star logo, which adds an authentic and identifiable character to these aviation tableware pieces.

Each knife displays a uniform silver tone, without additional decoration or pattern, highlighting a functional and robust design. The surface reflections indicate industrial polishing, common for cutlery intended for intensive use in mass catering or on board airplanes.

The general appearance shows some slight handling marks or micro-scratches, typical of prior use, without apparent structural defect. Both knives are strictly identical in their design and finish visible in the photo.

This type of cutlery, branded with the company's name, is of particular interest to collectors of objects related to the history of commercial aviation and 20th-century utilitarian design. Their minimalist design is in line with the service accessories used by major South American companies, particularly in the decades preceding the merger of LanChile into the Latam Airlines group.
