Description

This item, shown in the photo, is an ancient mammal tooth, presented here as a natural history curiosity specimen. The tooth is distinguished by its massive and angular shape, characteristic of the molars or premolars of large species. Its surface has an ivory to beige color, with lighter shades on the raised areas and natural wear marks, indicating its age. The enamel, partially preserved on the crown, shows irregularities and microfissures, while the root, partially exposed, reveals a porous texture typical of fossils or ancient remains.

The exposed side shows the occlusal reliefs, worn but still well-defined, and a top with slight erosion. The general morphology, with its ridges and grooves, is typical of a herbivore or omnivore mammal tooth, though the species cannot be determined without further analysis. The specimen shows a uniform patina, with some traces of sediment embedded in the crevices, reinforcing its authentic and ancient appearance.

The dominant color is light beige, with variations up to ivory, and slight ocher tones in certain areas. No markings, inscriptions, or numbers are visible on the photographed side. The general appearance is rough, unpolished, with a matte texture and natural wear over the entire surface.

This type of tooth is often sought after for taxidermy, cabinet of curiosities decoration, or natural history studies. Its condition, although marked by time, gives it an authenticity appreciated in vintage or scientific decorative environments.
