Description

This item is an ancient mammal tooth, shown here in a side view against a black background, with a ruler visible in the background to help appreciate its proportions. The tooth has a massive, elongated shape, characteristic of molars or premolars, with several distinct roots clearly visible at the base. The outer surface offers an ivory to beige hue, punctuated by darker shades and natural wear marks, attesting to its authenticity and age.

The upper relief of the tooth shows ridges and grooves typical of mammal teeth, with a convex and worn crown on the highest part. A longitudinal groove separates two main parts, suggesting a tooth from a large animal. The surface texture alternates between smooth areas and slightly porous aspects, with some brown or ochre stains due to mineralization or exposure to the soil over time.

The root, clearly visible on the shown side, is divided into two main branches, one thicker and straighter, the other thinner and curved, each end cleanly sectioned. No major chips are visible on the exposed face, but a slight matte patina covers the whole, accentuating the ancient character of the piece. The tooth shows no apparent treatment or mounting, making it ideal for use in a cabinet of curiosities or as naturalistic decoration.

The dominant color is an ivory beige, with darker shades on the edges and in the grooves, typical of ancient organic remains. No markings, inscriptions, or labels are visible on the exposed face. The object is photographed alone, without a base or support, which allows for a full appreciation of its natural and raw morphology.
