Description

This old 45 rpm record features a light grey checkered cardboard sleeve, adorned with an orange label in the center. The main title, "French Military Music Volume II," is printed at the top of the label, followed by the titles "Marche Lorraine, Le Père la Victoire, Marche de la Légion étrangère, Chant des partisans." The collection is performed by the Musique de la Garde Républicaine, under the direction of François-Julien Brun. The visible reference "ESBF 17034" appears in the upper right corner of the central label.

The "Columbia" logo is clearly visible below the main information, attesting to the original record label. In the bottom right of the sleeve, the inscription "PLAISIR MUSICAL PATHÉ MARCONI" appears in black characters, indicating the series or collection to which this vinyl belongs. The entire front cover has a retro look, typical of French editions from the 50s-60s, with a sober and elegant aesthetic.

The sleeve shows a rigid structure, without illustration, favoring a textual and institutional presentation. No pictorial decor is visible on the shown side, only the discreet checkered pattern of the support and the contrasting orange label. The hue of the sleeve and the graphic style evoke the design of post-war French vinyl productions.

The information inscribed on the label is clear and legible, facilitating the identification of the musical content: emblematic marches and songs from the French military repertoire, recorded by a recognized official ensemble. The artistic direction is clearly mentioned, reinforcing the historical and documentary interest of this record.

The bottom edge of the sleeve shows a slight curvature, with no visible tears on the shown side. Some discreet traces of wear and handling can be observed, consistent with an old vintage vinyl record.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. Sleeve shows slight signs of wear visible on the front, with no major apparent defects. The inner record is not visible in the photo.

Did you know? The "Plaisir Musical" series records released by Pathé Marconi in the 1950s-1960s include many emblematic recordings of French classical and military music. Columbia was then one of the main record labels in France, often associated with prestigious productions and official performers.
