Description

This 45-rpm vinyl record, published by the Barclay label, features "bourrées auvergnates" performed by Tonin Troupel and his ensemble on its cover. The visible side of the cover displays typical graphics of French musical productions from the mid-20th century, with stylized green illustrations on a yellow and white background, evoking folk dance and Auvergne traditions. The inscription "Haute Fidélité" (High Fidelity) and the Barclay logo clearly appear in the upper right, guarantees of a quality edition.

The cover mentions several visible titles: "Lo Crouzado (Bourrée)", "La Cati - Cabrette (Waltz)", "En Carlades (Waltz)", "Lo Morianno - La Planèse (Bourrées)", suggesting a varied repertoire of traditional Auvergne music. The artist's name, Tonin Troupel, is highlighted at the bottom right, followed by the mention "et son ensemble" (and his ensemble).

The upper left edge indicates the reference "76012 MEDIUM", typical of Barclay pressings of the era. The entire cover shows visible signs of wear: scuff marks, slight discoloration, and traces on the surface, testifying to previous use and its vintage authenticity. No major defects are visible on the front, but the overall patina suggests a used item true to its age.

The graphic style, printing, and color choices are characteristic of the 1960s, a period during which regional folk music enjoyed a certain craze in France. This unique visual, with its drawings evoking dance and instruments, gives this record a decorative appeal in addition to its musical interest.

The item is presented here in a bright setting, placed on a wooden surface, which highlights the texture of the cover and its chromatic palette. Only the front is visible in the photo; no details of the back or the record itself are observable.

Condition

This 45-rpm vinyl record is second-hand and sold as is, with visible signs of wear on the cover (see photo). The condition of the record has not been checked, as only the front of the cover is visible.

Did you know? The Barclay label, founded in 1954, is one of the most important on the French music scene and produced many major artists from the 1950s to the 1970s. Records of regional music, such as Auvergne bourrées, bear witness to the valorization of folk heritage during the 20th century, notably through the very popular 45-rpm format of the time.
