Vintage Sleeping Beauty Vinyl Record 45 RPM Children's Story
AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description
This vintage vinyl record features an illustrated cover of the classic tale "Sleeping Beauty". On the visible side, the illustration depicts a young blonde girl in a long light blue dress, lying inside a huge flower with petals graded from white to bright pink. The decor is completed with green foliage and small white fairies, adding a magical touch to the whole. The title "La Belle au Bois Dormant" (Sleeping Beauty) is inscribed at the top of the sleeve, in handwritten letters alternating pink and green, typical of children's editions from the mid to late 20th century.
In the upper left, the mention "VI. 307" appears, suggesting a reference or serial number specific to this edition. The illustration, signed in the lower left "Denise Chabot", shows meticulous graphic work, with a watercolor style and soft contours, characteristic of vintage children's albums. The entire cover displays a retro look, reinforced by the pastel color palette and the naive aesthetic of the scene.
The cover appears well preserved, with no visible tears or stains on the front. The corners show slight wear, typical of handled vintage vinyl records, but no major alteration is visible on the illustration itself. The image does not allow to see the record inside, but the thickness of the cover probably indicates the presence of a 45 RPM single, as mentioned in the keywords.
This vinyl record is intended for a young audience, with a fairy tale theme, which is reflected in the choice of soft colors and the central floral motif. The whole evokes the world of childhood and the oral tradition of tales adapted into audio versions on vinyl, very popular in the 1960s to 1980s.
The visible side does not show any record label or publication year, but the graphic style and typography of the title are consistent with French children's productions from the second half of the 20th century.
Condition
Used item sold as is. The cover shows slight signs of wear on the corners, with no major visible defects on the main illustration. The record itself is not visible in the photo.
