Description

This period administrative document, visible in the photo, is an official prefectural order issued by the Préfecture des Bouches-du-Rhône, relating to the port of Marseille, dated 1953. The order concerns the public domain of the State and bears the mention "Arrêté d'Occupation" (Occupation Order). The document is typewritten on a cream-colored sheet of paper, with a neat layout typical of administrative forms from the mid-20th century.

In the upper left part, the printed mentions are clearly visible: "PRÉFECTURE BOUCHES-DU-RHÔNE DOMAINE PUBLIC DE L'ÉTAT Arrêté d'Occupation ANNÉE 1953" (PREFECTURE BOUCHES-DU-RHÔNE STATE PUBLIC DOMAIN Occupation Order YEAR 1953). A round blue ink administrative stamp, partially legible, also appears on the left side, with the handwritten numbering "1.710".

The main title "ARRÊTÉ" (ORDER) is centered at the top of the document. Several typewritten passages are visible, notably the reference to the "Société des CHANTIERS MARITIMES MASSILIA" (MASSILIA MARITIME SHIPYARDS Company) and the mention of the commune of Marseille. The text details the request for authorization, the opinions of the engineers and relevant services, as well as the conditions for occupying the public domain. A stamp dated "1 DÉC 1953" is affixed to the right part of the text.

The document has a standard rectangular format. The paper's texture shows a slight patina and signs of age, typical of administrative documents preserved for several decades. Some traces of handling, as well as a handwritten inscription at the bottom of the page, are visible. The original impression, in black ink, remains generally legible, although some passages are slightly faded with time.

The visible side shows a typical presentation of French public archives: justified text, legal mentions, official signatures and stamps. No back, nor other side, is visible in the photo.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. The document shows signs of wear and tear: patina, handling marks, slightly dog-eared corners, some handwritten inscriptions, and a small perforation at the top right. The whole remains legible and well-preserved for an administrative document from the 1950s.
