Description

This lot consists of a set of old administrative documents, visible in the photo, relating to hydraulic public works in Marseille. The first page bears the heading "Port de la Lave" and mentions a "Commission Supérieure des Services Publics Maritimes" (Superior Commission for Maritime Public Services). The text is typewritten in black on paper with a slightly yellowed appearance, typical of archives from the 1930s to 1940s. An oval blue stamp affixed to the top left reads "Préfecture des Bouches-du-Rhône, Service Maritime, 6 déc. 1934", confirming both the administrative origin and the dating of the document.

The upper part of the page also shows a handwritten reference in red "1165" as well as traces of perforation or stapling, indicating its use in a file. The entire text is written in French, with a layout structured in paragraphs and underlined headings, typical of official reports of the time. The visible technical terms ("rapport de l’ingénieur" - engineer's report, "surfaces maritimes" - maritime areas, "installations" - facilities) suggest detailed content on port developments and administrative procedures related to hydraulic works.

The general condition of the document shows good preservation for its age: the visible page has slightly dog-eared edges, a uniform patina, and some signs of use without major tears or visible stains. The machine typography, the texture of the paper, and the presence of the official stamp reinforce the authenticity of this set of technical and administrative archives.

The stack suggests the presence of several sheets, all of a similar appearance, but only the front of the first is visible. No details are given about the back or the exact content of the following pages, in accordance with the strict description policy based on the image.

Used item, sold as is. Shows signs of handling, slightly creased corners, antique appearance and patina of use visible on the exposed side.

Did you know? The major Marseillaise port works of the 1930s profoundly transformed urban planning and the local maritime economy. The Port de la Lave, mentioned in this document, was a strategic site for receiving construction materials and the industrial development of Marseille's northern coast, notably under the impetus of public works companies and engineers from the Ponts et Chaussées.
