Description

This lot consists of an old administrative file, visible in the photo, likely dating from the 1930s-1940s according to the handwritten notes and the typography of the documents. The main file folder, made of thick beige paper, is annotated by hand: "Port of Marseille. Installation of a water intake and a pipeline. Renewal of authorization. La Sté des Services auxiliaires de l'armement...?". A handwritten date "1927" appears in the designation column, probably referring to an earlier document or the chronology of the file.

Inside, there is a typewritten report with the letterhead "SOCIÉTÉ DE SERVICES AUXILIAIRES DE L'ARMEMENT", addressed to the Prefect of Bouches-du-Rhône in Marseille, dated March 16 (year partially obscured in the image). The text, in French, refers to the authorization of port works, with precise references to installations on the quay and to the water intake. Several administrative stamps are also visible on the first page of the report, reinforcing the authenticity of the document.

The folder features a classic layout of early 20th-century French administrative archives, with columns for dates, designations, and observations. The paper has a uniform light beige patina, typical of old archive documents. The edges show some signs of wear, creases, and slight marks, with no major tears visible on the exposed side.

The typewritten typography of the report and the handwritten annotations in black ink correspond to the administrative practices of the 1930s-1940s. No modern logo or recent mention appears on the visible documents. The whole bears witness to the administrative and port operations in Marseille at the time, with particular interest in the city's industrial and maritime history.

Condition

Used archive file, showing traces of use and wear consistent with its age: patina, creases, slightly marked corners. Sold as is, as visible in the photo.
