Description

Original Russian military patch, typically shield-shaped, as shown in the photo. The background is dark blue, enhanced by a wide white embroidered border. In the center, a detailed heraldic motif depicts a golden double-headed eagle, a traditional emblem of Russia, on a red background. The eagle bears a small red shield embroidered in white on its chest, evoking the tradition of national coats of arms. Above it, a horizontal red, blue, and white band recalls the colors of the Russian flag.

The perimeter of the patch features an inscription in Cyrillic, embroidered in white, the upper part of which contains the word "РОССИЯ" (Russia). On the lower part, "МИРОТВОРЧЕСКИЕ СИЛЫ" (Peacekeeping Forces) can be distinguished. The embroidery is dense, with contrasting colored thread, giving a neat and solid appearance to the whole. The patch has a clean and regular cut, typical of military textile insignias.

The visible side shows good overall preservation, with no snags or tears perceptible on the embroidery or the border. The colors remain vibrant, particularly the gold of the central thread and the blue of the background, which indicates careful maintenance or low light exposure. No major defects are observable on the photographed area.

This type of patch was worn on uniforms by members of the Russian peacekeeping forces, particularly from the 1990s, a post-USSR transition period. The embroidery style and typography are characteristic of Russian military insignias from the late 20th century. The general appearance, finish, and choice of colors confirm the authenticity of the piece as a regulation textile insignia.

The piece presented here is an embroidered example, not iron-on, to be sewn or attached to a uniform or military jacket. The fabric structure and the quality of the thread used are clearly visible in the photograph, reinforcing its character as an object of military origin.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. Some possible signs of use on the visible surface, but no major defects observed. Colors and embroidery are well preserved.

Did you know? Russian peacekeeping force patches appeared after the dissolution of the USSR, during the first international mandate interventions in the 1990s. The symbol of the double-headed eagle, officially readopted in 1993, marks continuity with the Russian imperial tradition while asserting the new national identity.
