Description

First Day Cover (FDC) philatelic envelope, issued for the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville (Savoie). The main visual, top left, features a colorful illustration of a slalom skier in action, against a stylized snowflake and snow background, with the mention "LE SLALOM" at the top. The illustration is signed "Edmond S. Coëffec" at the bottom right.

The top right part of the envelope features an official French stamp, with red and white graphics, labeled "2.30 + 0.20", "ALBERTVILLE 92", and illustrated with a skier and the Olympic logo. Two circular postmarks "PREMIER JOUR 19 JANVIER 1991 – XVIe JEUX OLYMPIQUES D’HIVER – LES MENUIRES (73)" are stamped in the center of the envelope, confirming the date and place of issue. The mention "PREMIER JOUR D'ÉMISSION" is printed in bright pink, accompanied by the English translation "FIRST DAY COVER".

At the bottom left, the legend "JEUX D’HIVER 1992 ALBERTVILLE (SAVOIE)" specifies the context of the issue. A pink "FIRST DAY COVER – Édition officielle" stamp is also visible. At the bottom right is an issue number: "No 4887".

The whole presents a very neat visual appearance, with vibrant colors (orange, blue, white, red) and careful printing typical of modern commemorative envelopes. No discoloration or major defects are observable on the visible surfaces.
