Description

This illustrated philatelic envelope showcases the Château de Foix, an emblematic monument in Ariège, France. The visible side features a color drawing of the castle with its three medieval towers, surrounded by stylized vegetation. To the left of the image is the red and yellow striped coat of arms, characteristic of the County of Foix. The printing and colors reflect a graphic style typical of the mid-20th century.

The envelope bears two perfectly legible round postmarks, dated October 4, 1958, and inscribed "PREMIER JOUR CHÂTEAU DE FOIX" (First Day Château de Foix). This detail confirms it is a first-day issue envelope, highly sought after by collectors of thematic philately and postal history.
