AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description
Commemorative philatelic envelope illustrating a mailing dated April 22, 1974, sent from Toulouse, as evidenced by the circular postmark "31700 TOULOUSE RP AEROPORT 22-4 1974". The stamp affixed, with a face value of 0.60 francs, depicts Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris with a dominant purple and gray color scheme, accompanied by the inscription "RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE".
The envelope features 1970s-era graphics on the right side, highlighting the inscription "SUP’AERO 1974 à TOULOUSE" and a stylized airplane or aircraft motif, printed in blue. The front also bears the mentions "CORRESPONDANCE PHILATELIQUE" and the address of the SCOTEM company, 11 Rue Neuve Popincourt, 75011 PARIS, printed in blue.
The item is inserted into a transparent protective plastic sleeve. The envelope paper has a smooth appearance, with a black margin at the top and right, providing graphic contrast and an elegant presentation. No other content, back, or inner document is visible in the photo.
The cancellation mark is clear and legible, positioned on the stamp and part of the envelope, testifying to its authenticity as a philatelic item. The lower right corner bears a handwritten label "6F", probably an old classification or price marker.
This illustrated envelope, from an event related to aeronautics or a recognized institution like Sup’Aéro, is an excellent medium for the aviation theme and French postal history of the 1970s. All visible inscriptions are of original typographic or handwritten origin, with no apparent modern additions.
Condition
Used item sold as is. The visible envelope is generally clean, protected under plastic, with some slight traces of wear and handling on the surface. The stamp and postmark are well preserved and legible. No major snags or tears are visible on the presented face.
