First day cover 1967 Rousseau football players stamp The Cart Laval
AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description
This illustrated envelope is a "first day" commemorative envelope, issued in 1967. On the visible side, a colorful visual reproduces Rousseau's work titled "The Football Players", accompanied by the inscription "Rousseau – Les joueurs de football" printed in the upper right. The inscription "Copyright by S.P.A.D.E.M. 1967" is also visible in the lower left, confirming the edition date.
A French stamp is affixed to the upper right corner of the envelope. It depicts a carriage scene with horses, a country landscape, and characters, typical of the postal illustrative style of the period. This stamp is canceled by a clear circular postmark bearing the inscription "LA CARRIOLE D'AVRIL – JOURNÉE DU TIMBRE – 15 AVR. 67 – 53 LAVAL", which attests to the date of circulation and the associated philatelic event.
The envelope is protected in a transparent plastic sleeve, which preserves its original colors and appearance. A handwritten sticker "20 F" is affixed to the lower right part, probably an old price indication. A numbered ticket "0068" is visible on the sleeve, which may correspond to an order or lot number from a philatelic fair or exhibition.
The "FIRST DAY COVER" postmark is clearly printed in blue ink on the front, confirming the nature of this envelope as an official philatelic item. The ensemble presents a beautiful harmony between artistic illustration and postal elements, typical of French first-day covers from the 1960s.
The visual and general condition of the visible side show a well-preserved envelope, without tears, chips, or apparent stains under the plastic protection. The colors remain vibrant, both on the illustration and on the stamp. No major defects are observable on the exposed part.
Condition
Used item, sold as is. The envelope is protected under plastic, with some visible creases on the protection but no noticeable defects on the visible part of the envelope itself.
