Description

Illustrated First Day Cover, issued on the occasion of "World Heart Month" on April 8, 1972, in Paris. The visible side features a large commemorative stamp with remarkable graphics: it shows a surgical operation scene, stylized in the shape of a heart on a red background, framed by a white electrocardiogram line. The mention "MOIS MONDIAL DU CŒUR" (WORLD HEART MONTH) appears at the bottom of the stamp, highlighting the medical and humanitarian theme of this special issue.

The envelope surface displays two official black postmarks, both dated April 8, 1972, with the inscription "PREMIER JOUR D’ÉMISSION" (FIRST DAY OF ISSUE) and "FIRST DAY COVER". The main postmark features a stylized globe, surrounded by the mentions "MOIS MONDIAL DU CŒUR" (WORLD HEART MONTH) and "PARIS". In the upper right, a French postal stamp of 1.00 F on a white background completes the ensemble. A handwritten label indicates the value "10F", probably an internal reference or a historical price.

The envelope is protected by a transparent plastic film, showing some reflections but ensuring the preservation of the item. No other elements or reverse side are visible in the photo. The item is presented on a light wood desk background, which enhances the vibrant colors of the main stamp and the clarity of the postmarks.

The graphic style, bilingual inscriptions (French/English), and medical theme clearly place the issue in the context of the early 1970s, during international awareness campaigns for heart health.
