Illustrated philatelic envelope, visible in a transparent plastic sleeve, dedicated to François Mansart (1598-1666), a famous French architect. This First Day Cover (FDC) features a detailed illustration on the front, combining a portrait of François Mansart surrounded by a golden wreath on a blue background, overlooking the stylized drawing of a classical building, probably in reference to his architectural work.

The envelope bears two round black postmarks reading "1598 - FRANÇOIS MANSART - PREMIER JOUR - 12 FEV. 1966 - PARIS", perfectly legible on the front. A matching postage stamp, bearing the effigy of François Mansart, is affixed to the right, featuring the portrait and an architectural element. The overall graphic design uses pale blue, black, gold, and brown tones, with a clean style typical of French FDCs from the 1960s.

In the upper right, the mention "PREMIER JOUR D’ÉMISSION" (First Day of Issue) is printed, along with the reference "N° 952 HISTORIQUE" and the caption "FRANÇOIS MANSART 1598-1966 ARCHITECTE FRANÇAIS" (French Architect) in the lower left.
