Description

This illustrated envelope is a "First Day Cover" (FDC), issued on the occasion of the 19th Paris Philatelic Exhibition in 1965. On the visible side, it features a graphic composition dedicated to modern painters, with a palette, brushes, and an easel, as well as a stamp depicting a stylized work of art. The overall design is highlighted by subtle colors: black, red, and shades of brown and gray, on an off-white background.

The envelope bears a circular postmark "XIXe Salon Philatélique Paris Salon d’Automne" dated November 6, 1965, applied to both the stamp and the illustration, confirming its philatelic authenticity. The word "Historique" appears at the top, accompanied by the number "N° 589", characteristic of limited or referenced editions in this type of commemorative mail.

The main illustration showcases the painter's tools (palette, brushes, easel), as well as a panel representing the stamp issued for the occasion. The text "LES PEINTRES MODERNES – SALON D’AUTOMNE" is located at the bottom left of the visible side. A small red stamp with a stylized motif attests to an official edition or validation by a philatelic entity.

The stamp affixed on the right, based on visible elements, features an artistic theme with red and black colors, and the word "POSTES" is clearly visible. A handwritten "2f" label is affixed to the envelope, likely related to a rating or price from that era.

The item is presented in a protective plastic sleeve, which has preserved the overall condition of the envelope and illustrations. No major defects, creases, or tears are visible on the photographed side. The print quality, crispness of the postmarks, and integrity of the stamp are well preserved.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. The envelope shows a very good appearance on the visible side, protected by a plastic sleeve. No significant defects are observable on this side.
