Description Old, round cheese label, typical of traditional French Camembert packaging. The visual features dominant colors of gold, white, red, and black, with a golden wheat frieze border, characteristic of the graphic style of the 1960s-1980s. In the center, the "RUBAN" logo appears on a shield with two golden lions on a red background, evoking Norman coats of arms. Diagonally, the word "Camembert" is written in red gothic letters on a bandeau, emphasizing the regional authenticity of the piece.

Around the logo, several technical mentions are visible: "Fabriqué en Normandie" (Made in Normandy), "à la louche – au lait cru" (ladled – with raw milk), "45 pour cent de matière grasse" (45 percent fat content). There is also a small industrial marking, "GARNIER – ANGOULEME," at the bottom right, which identifies the specialized printer of this type of food label.

The label is in excellent visual condition, with no stains, creases, or apparent discoloration. The colors are vibrant, and the cardboard backing appears flat and unaltered. No printing or cutting defects are visible in the photo.

This type of label, unglued and in new condition ("deadstock"), was intended to adorn traditional Camembert boxes. It is a sought-after decorative item for retro decor, food brand history, or advertising graphic art.

The graphic style, fonts, as well as the mention of fat content as a percentage and the layout, place it most likely between the 1960s and 1980s, a period when this type of print was common in French artisanal cheese dairies.

Condition Used item, sold as is. Unused antique label, in excellent visual condition, with no major alteration.

Did you know? Illustrated cheese labels appeared in France at the end of the 19th century with the development of Camembert in wooden boxes. They served both as advertising support and a guarantee of origin. Some old labels have now become true testimonies to regional graphic and food history.
