Description

An antique Thomson iron, presented here in an electric version with a solid wood handle and a metallic-looking body. The object displays a typical silhouette of domestic irons from the mid-20th century, with a robust metal base, an ergonomic handle made of patinated wood, and an original textile power cord carefully wrapped around the structure. The upper part incorporates a cord-holding spiral, fixed by a white ceramic piece, characteristic of vintage electric models.

The visible side shows a legible "Thomson" marking on a metal label riveted to the front of the base, accompanied by technical references and a stylized logo. The wood of the handle shows a beautiful patina, with some signs of use and dark marks, highlighting the authenticity and age of the object. The metal body shows grey nuances with a slight tarnishing, typical of the old alloys used by Thomson at the time.

This iron combines utilitarian design with sober elegance, featuring clean lines and a compact structure. The electrical components, including the cord-holding spiral and the textile cord, bear witness to the technical design of the period. The handle's fixing screws are clearly visible, as are the details of the base, reinforcing the overall industrial character.

The iron's surface shows slight traces of oxidation and homogeneous wear, with no major chips apparent on the visible area. The original light brown textile cord is complete and integrated into the piece's retro aesthetic.
