Description

This CEF philatelic sheet commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Popular Front (1936-1986) and highlights Fernand Léger's work, "Les Loisirs" (Leisure). The piece is presented as an illustrated sheet, inserted into a transparent perforated plastic sleeve for filing, typical of CEF (Covers Événements Philatéliques) issues. The sheet features a vibrant color reproduction of Fernand Léger's painting, depicting a group of stylized figures surrounded by bicycles, in a leisure scene, characteristic of the painter's graphic style.

In the bottom left, there is a postage stamp matching the illustration, canceled with a commemorative postmark dated and located in Paris, bearing the inscription "Front Populaire 1936-1986". The stamp, with a face value of 2.20 F, also features the work "Les Loisirs".

The sheet is framed by an explanatory text in French tracing the history and impact of the Popular Front, as well as the social and cultural significance of the advances of 1936. The issue is numbered in the bottom left (n° 11686), indicating a limited print run of 33,800 copies. The reference "N° 788 du catalogue CEF" is present on the top left border.

The overall presentation is typical of CEF commemorative philatelic issues: rectangular format, black printed text on a white background, central colored illustration, and first day postmark applied to the stamp. No major defects or alterations are visible on the presented side; the sheet is well preserved in its protective sleeve.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. The sheet visible in the photo is in good overall condition, with no noticeable creases or stains on the front. The plastic sleeve shows some reflections related to the photo shoot, without affecting the quality of the sheet.
