Description

This philatelic sheet issued by the CEF commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Front Populaire (1936-1986). It features a color reproduction of Fernand Léger's work "Les Loisirs," placed in the center of the sheet. The illustration highlights a group of stylized characters in Léger's characteristic style, surrounded by bicycles and elements reminiscent of popular leisure, on a blue and ocher background. The visual occupies the central part of the sheet, framed by two columns of explanatory text tracing the historical context of the Front Populaire in France.

In the bottom left of the sheet is a postage stamp matching the illustration, accompanied by a first-day cancellation "Front Populaire 1936-1986 Paris." The stamp features Léger's painting, and the face value of 2.20 F is clearly legible. The whole is laid out on a white cardboard backing, with a fine black border and a neat presentation typical of CEF productions.

The sheet features printed inscriptions at the top: "1936 - 50e ANNIVERSAIRE DU FRONT POPULAIRE - 1986," followed by the artist's name and the title of the work. On the left, there is the mention "N° 798 du catalogue CEF," as well as the CEF logo (Cercle des Émissions Philatéliques de France et d’Étranger). The individual number "11689" is printed at the bottom left of the support. The perforations on the left side indicate that it is a sheet designed for a binder.

The visible surface shows no significant aesthetic defects: the sharpness of the print, the cut, and the general legibility are good according to the photo. The overall condition appears neat, with no visible folds or stains on the presented side.

Condition
