Sheet CEF Antoine Pevsner World Day 1 Paris philately stamp art
AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description
This illustrated philatelic sheet features a First Day Issue dedicated to Antoine Pevsner and his work "Monde" (World). On the visible side, there is a CEF (Courrier d’Entreprise à la Française) sheet in a horizontal format, predominantly white and grey, with a photographic insert showing Pevsner's modern sculpture "Monde". To the left, a postage stamp dedicated to the artist, accompanied by its perfectly legible "PARIS" First Day cancellation dated 15-06-1991, with the mention "PEVSNER MONDE" and a handwritten signature integrated into the postmark.
The sheet includes a photographic reproduction of Pevsner's sculpture, with abstract geometric forms typical of the constructivist movement. The black and white composition highlights the light and volumes of the work, emphasizing the avant-garde style of the Russian artist, who became a naturalized French citizen.
The left part of the sheet includes an explanatory text about Antoine Pevsner, tracing his artistic journey and his contribution to modern art. The text, printed in black on a white background, is perfectly legible on the exposed side. A grey frame underlines the overall presentation, accentuating the high-end editorial aspect typical of CEF sheets.
There is also a printed serial number "781" in the lower left corner, a characteristic element of CEF's limited and numbered editions. The perforations on the left edge indicate a detachable sheet, originating from a binder or a professional philatelic presentation.
The whole presents a neat appearance, without major visible defects, with clean edges and quality printing. The central photograph, the original stamp, and the First Day cancellation give this sheet both an artistic and philatelic dimension, sought after by collectors of contemporary stamps and 20th-century art.
