Description

This philatelic sheet published by CEF features a layout dedicated to the Center for Advanced Studies on Modern Africa and Asia (CHEAM). The main part displays a French postage stamp of 3.20 francs, illustrated with a stylized representation of two profiles, one male with dark skin and the other female with light skin, set in a graphic decor blending motifs and vegetation. The visual is signed by René Dessirier, a decorator, whose mention appears below the illustration.

The sheet also includes a first-day postmark, dated September 13, 1986, in Paris, with the mention "CHEAM 1936-1986" and the establishment's logo. The whole is carefully framed and printed on a clean white background, typical of CEF (Courrier d’Entreprise à Faciale) issues.

In the margin, the sheet bears the reference "N° 811 S of the CEF catalog" as well as the copy number 9466, visible at the bottom left. On the left side, there are the mentions of the publisher CEF and the conditions of issue. The visible side shows no signs of use or notable defects; the printing and colors remain sharp and well-contrasted.

The lower part provides an explanatory text on the history and role of CHEAM, founded in 1936, and details the evolution of its missions in training and research on modern Africa and Asia. The typography is fine, and the entire text remains perfectly legible.

This sheet is kept in a perforated plastic sleeve, designed for storage in a standard philatelic binder. No elements of the back or interior are visible in the photo.
