Description

This philatelic souvenir sheet issued by the CEF (Cercle des Émetteurs de France) commemorates the National Congress of the Federation of French Philatelic Societies, held in Niort in 1992. On the main part, there is a detailed illustration signed by Marie-Noëlle Goffin, a painter, depicting a stylized panorama of the city of Niort with its famous twin towers of Saint-André church, colorful roofs, and a bridge spanning the Sèvre Niortaise in the foreground. The dominant hues are gray, brick red, and green, giving the scene a graphic and lively appearance.

To the right of the illustration, an explanatory text details the context of the congress, under the title "Europe d’Art d’Art" (Europe of Art), mentioning the main European partners and the cultural importance of the event. A 2.50 F blue stamp, illustrating a stylized artistic scene, is affixed to the upper right part, accompanied by a First Day cancellation dated June 9, 1992, in Niort. The First Day postmark features a feather and a circle motif, indicating the official and commemorative dimension of the souvenir sheet.

The souvenir sheet is presented on a white cardboard page, with the mention "Limited edition" and the individual number 1258, visible at the bottom left. On the side edge, there are perforations allowing it to be filed in a binder, as well as the reference "N° 1088 of the CEF catalog" and various publishing information relating to SODOP, the official printer. The whole is designed to be kept in a philatelic album or displayed.

The general condition observed on the visible side is very good: the surface of the souvenir sheet is clean, the colors well preserved, with no signs of wear, creases, or apparent stains. The inscriptions and illustrations are perfectly legible. This souvenir sheet presents a neat aesthetic, typical of early 1990s CEF issues.
