Description

This illustrated philatelic sheet, issued by CEF (Courrier d’Entreprise à Faciale), is dedicated to the Customs Co-operation Council, with a focus on the Bordeaux Customs Museum. The presentation highlights a central artistic composition, blending blue, yellow, and white tones, and incorporating a graphic motif evoking a stylized compass rose, featuring an eye at its center. This illustration, signed by Jacques Jubert, a painter and engraver, gives the whole a contemporary and institutional dimension.

On the left side of the sheet, there are official mentions: "Customs Co-operation Council", "Bordeaux", and "Customs Museum". An architectural drawing of the Bordeaux Customs Museum is reproduced below the face value "2,30". A specific commemorative postmark, featuring the logo of the Customs Co-operation Council, is also visible.

The sheet is presented in a perforated transparent plastic sleeve, typical of CEF editions, with the reference "6726" visible in the bottom left, and technical inscriptions on the margin. The right side features a detailed explanatory text on the creation and history of the Customs Co-operation Council, the 1950 Brussels Convention, and the inauguration of the Customs Museum in 1984. The text is printed in black on white, in clear and legible typography.

The printing quality of the sheet highlights both the finesse of the design and the richness of the colors, with a marked contrast between the central illustration and the white margins. No visible cosmetic defects on the presented side, the document appears clean and well-preserved in its original sleeve.

Condition

Used item sold as is. The visible side of the sheet shows no apparent wear, stains, or creases. Transparent protective sleeve included, in good overall condition.

Did you know? The Customs Co-operation Council, created by the Brussels Convention in 1950, was the origin of the World Customs Organization (WCO), now based in Brussels. The Bordeaux Customs Museum, inaugurated in 1984, is located in the Hôtel des Douanes, a historic building designed by the architect Jacques V Gabriel in the 18th century.
