Description
This official philatelic sheet, published by the CEF (Courrier d’Entreprise à la Française), is dedicated to the Council of Europe and the issue "A youth - a future." It features three French postage stamps from 1985, each illustrated with a work by François Thouvenin. The stamps are presented in distinct colored frames (blue, green, and red), each displaying a different face value: 0.80, 1.00, and 2.20. A round stamp "Council of Europe Tour - a youth a future August 31, 1985 Strasbourg" is affixed, highlighting the authenticity of the first day issue.
The sheet features, on the right, a central illustration depicting a broken eggshell from which a stylized silhouette emerges, symbolizing the birth of a new generation. This graphic, signed by François Thouvenin, expresses the notion of renewal and future for European youth, in connection with the theme of the International Youth Year.
The lower part of the sheet contains an explanatory printed text, tracing the history of the issue of these special stamps by the Postal administration, as well as the objective of promoting the voice of young Europeans during the European Youth Week in Strasbourg in 1985.
The left edge of the sheet shows a reference to the CEF catalog as well as the indication "Registered Design" and "The Philatelist's Commercial Income." A page number (106) is visible at the bottom left, indicating a neat and original presentation.
The whole is printed on a rigid support with a smooth appearance, offering a clear contrast between the textual areas, the stamps, and the illustration. The colors remain vibrant and the text is perfectly legible in the visible area.
Condition
Used item, sold as is. The presented side is in good overall condition, with no apparent defects on the visible area. The colors are fresh, the text and illustrations are crisp. No visible creases, stains, or tears on the exposed side.
